Bridgeport Mountain Biking - East of The Sierra Mountains in California

Bridgeport Mountain Biking

Wonderful Scenery East of the Sierra Mountains in California

My family has been vacationing in Bridgeport every summer since 2006. We camp at Anette's Mono Village, which lies at the western end of the Upper Twin Lake, about 10 miles west from the town of Bridgeport, California.

Mono Village also sits in a canyon at the base of towering, jagged, often snow clad, 12,000 foot, Sierra Nevada peaks.

We have participated in various recreational activities including fishing, kayaking, hiking, mine hunting, off-roading, inner-tubing, sitting in hot springs, rope-swinging, and bike riding. It is really a beautiful area, as the pictures below demonstrate.

I have also managed to work in a few mountain bike rides each trip we do to Bridgeport. The most convenient mountain bike ride for Mono Village campers would be the one I am calling the Horse Creek Loop, since it begins in the campground.

Another ride in the area is Big Meadow, which begins at the Buckeye Creek Campground.

Bridgeport mountain biking is not real popular ... but I have had a lot of fun and gotten some incredible photos out on those trails. The trails may not be well maintained ... but the scenery is second to none!
